MIME AND MIMICRY EVENT REPORT

An inter college Mime and Mimicry event was organized by Indraprastha College for Women on 14th November, 2024.
This event was conducted under the Theatre Category as a part of an initiative by the Culture Council and University of Delhi to promote and discover young talents.

Indraprastha College hosted several teams from the various colleges of Delhi University for both of the events.

The event was graced by the presence of our Guests of Honour Shri Anoop Lather, Chairperson, Steering Committee, Culture Council, University of Delhi and PRO, University of Delhi along with Prof. Ravinder Kumar, Dean, Culture Council, University of Delhi and Director, Centre for Independence & Partition Studies University of Delhi.
We were also joined by Prof. Anand Sonkar from University of Delhi as our eminent observer for the event.

This event was judged by our respected judges , Dr. Lakha Lehri, Dr. Rohit Tripathi and Dr. Ramesh Manchanda.

The Mime competition was held from 11 am onwards and had 11 participating teams from various prestigious colleges such as Hansraj College, Lady Shri Ram College for Women , Gargi college among others.


Each team was given 5 minutes to check their lights and sounds and 5 minutes to perform where they showcased a vibrant and diverse display of emotions through mime .

Zakir Hussain Delhi College was awarded the first prize while Bharati College bagged the second and Lakshmibai College received the third prize, respectively.

The Mimicry event started post the lunch break at 2 pm. This event witnessed enthusiastic solo participation from 13 participants who belonged to various colleges of University of Delhi.
The mimicry event witnessed a great display of voice and character variations by the participants.

Nikhil Bhaskar from Kirori Mal College secured the first position, Ananya Anil Kumar of Laxmibai College stood second and Tanish Sharma from Acharya Narendra Dev College received the third prize. The judges appreciated the will and presentation of the participants.

This was followed by the valedictory ceremony, where the judges and the guests of honor shared some words of wisdom with the teams and motivated them.
They also congratulated the host college for the successful conduction of the event .

This event was concluded by the prize distribution ceremony and later our respected Principal ma’am Prof. Poonam Kumria felicitated Prof. Ravinder Kumar Ji for his kind presence on the day .
