Delhi : Aam in Aam Aadmi Party is as much about common man as gulab in gulab jamun: Anurag Singh Thakur

Kejriwal Favors Mafia over the Rights of Delhi’s Poor: Anurag Singh Thakur

December 23, 2024, New Delhi: Former Union Minister and Member of Parliament from Hamirpur, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur, along with Delhi BJP President Shri Virendra Sachdeva and other party leaders, released a charge sheet against Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party Government in New Delhi. This document lists the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) false promises, incomplete work, governmental failures, and inefficiencies in detail.

Shri Anurag Singh Thakur said, “The wounds inflicted by Arvind Kejriwal and his Aam Aadmi Party on Delhi are countless. Aam in Aam Aadmi Party is as much about common man as gulab in gulab jamun. This is not a government for the common man but for a select few. In 10 years, Delhi has suffered adversely while AAP has become wealthy. Those who promised to eradicate corruption during the Anna movement are now looting Delhi. Broken roads, pollution, and contaminated water plague Delhiites, yet Kejriwal, who claims to be the ‘owner of Delhi’, remains completely indifferent towards Delhi.

“Kejriwal had promised to make all Delhi schools world-class, yet over two lakh children are out of school. He vowed to provide 24-hour clean water, but people are forced to drink contaminated water or buy it from tankers. Kejriwal promised to make Delhi number one but instead made it number one in expensive water, pollution, corrupt ministers, overflowing garbage, and the tallest mountains of trash. He even built the country’s most expensive chief minister’s residence,” Thakur added.

He further stated, “Arvind Kejriwal is an ally of corrupt individuals and a culprit for Delhi’s woes. During the COVID pandemic, the Kejriwal government failed to provide even basic amenities to workers residing in Delhi from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bengal, and other states, forcing them to flee Delhi. While shouting slogans of corruption-free governance, AAP orchestrated scandals in the water board, classrooms, liquor distribution, DTC, and hawala. Over 15 MLAs, ministers, and AAP leaders have gone to jail. Kejriwal has introduced a ‘work-from-jail’ model. This is the only government where the health minister, deputy CM, and CM have all been in jail.”

“The promise of free clinics and large hospitals remains unfulfilled, with 70% of patients seeking treatment in private hospitals. Delhi’s AQI once crossed 1200 and still hovers above 500. Kejriwal promised a corruption-free Delhi but is himself sinking in the mire of corruption,” Thakur said.

On the pollution of the Yamuna River, Thakur remarked, “The AAP government has polluted the Yamuna so much that it is now foul-smelling, frothy, and toxic. In 2022, Kejriwal said in a press conference that before the next elections, he would take a dip in the Yamuna along with other people. With just ten days left for the 2025 elections, has the Yamuna been cleaned? Kejriwal has deprived Delhi’s citizens of basic water facilities. The Prime Minister’s Jal Jeevan Mission ensured water supply everywhere, but Kejriwal prevented its implementation here. By not enforcing the Ayushman Bharat scheme, he has robbed the poor of their rights.”

Shri Anurag Singh Thakur added, “The atrocities of AAP will no longer be tolerated. Change is imminent. This is not a people’s government but a government of prisons. This party stands with anti-national forces, questions the surgical strikes, accepts financial help from Sikhs for Justice, and engages with anti-India entities. One of AAP’s MPs met anti-India MPs in Britain. This party even seeks support from Khalistani elements. CM Atishi’s parents defended the accused in the Parliament attack case. Kejriwal called the Batla House encounter fake and provides protection to Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators.”

Concluding, Thakur said, “AAP has failed to solve Delhi’s problems. The time has come to save Delhi. AAP’s misdeeds will not be repeated. In these Assembly elections, the people of Delhi will wipe out AAP and teach them a lesson for their arrogance, corruption, and misgovernance.”
