Closing Ceremony of the 13th All India Police Archery Championship-2024 at ITBP Greater Noida Campus

Greater Noida: The 13th All India Police Archery Championship-2024, organized by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) from December 9 to December 13, 2024, concluded today with a grand closing ceremony at the 39th Battalion ITBP campus in Greater Noida(UP). Shri R.A. Chandra Sekhar, Special Director, Intelligence Bureau, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Shri R.A. Chandra Sekhar congratulated ITBP, the All India Police Sports Control Board, all participants and the jury from various state police forces and Central Armed Police Forces for the successful completion of the championship. He expressed hope that this event would bring forth new talent, which will undoubtedly bring glory to the nation at the national and international levels.

The Chief Guest thanked the police forces and congratulated everyone on the successful organization and vibrant conclusion of the championship. He remarked that police forces have a proud legacy in archery. He expressed confidence that the championship provided an excellent platform for the best archers from police forces to showcase their skills, inspiring youth across the country to take up sports.

He also appreciated the unwavering dedication of the police forces in meeting challenges, whether in internal security or serving humanity through various missions. He encouraged the forces to continue their exemplary work and remain prepared to face any future challenges.

Shri R.A. Chandra Sekhar extended hearty congratulations to all the teams and participants who won medals and praised ITBP for the excellent organization of the championship.

Shri Nirbhai Singh, IG (Training), ITBP HQs, welcomed the Chief Guest and provided a detailed overview of the championship. He assured that the force would continue organizing such All India Police Championships whenever entrusted with the responsibility.

Shri Anand Singh Yersong, DIG, SHQ (Delhi), ITBP, delivered the vote of thanks.

The championship witnessed the participation of 321 athletes, including 189 men and 132 women, from 24 Central Armed Police Forces, State Police Forces, and Union Territory Police Forces. Additionally, 18 team managers, 24 coaches, and 13 technical officials participated in the event. A total of 37 events were conducted, competing for 174 medals, including 58 gold, 58 silver, and 58 bronze medals.

In the men’s category, ITBP emerged as the Overall Champion, followed by Uttar Pradesh Police in second place and Assam Rifles in third.


In the women’s category, the Border Security Force (BSF) secured the Overall Champion title, ITBP took second place, and Assam Rifles stood third.

Shri R. A. Chandra Sekhar, Special Director, Intelligence Bureau, Shri Abdul Gani Mir, ADG, ITBP HQs and senior officer from the Central Armed Police Forces, State Police Forces and Union Territory Police Forces attended the event.
