The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp and the rendition of the National Song. Addressing the inaugural session, Dr. Vinod K. Sharma stated, “The dream of ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’ is not merely a government target; it must be the personal resolve of every young Indian. Our youth possess the power to propel India to the pinnacle of the global stage.”
Prof. V.S. Negi inspired the participants by urging them to draw lessons from India’s glorious history and work with the spirit of ‘Nation First.’ Mr. Udaybir Singh, Deputy Director, Department of Youth Affairs, highlighted that the Ministry’s initiative aims to strengthen democratic values and foster civic engagement among the younger generation.
Prof. Poonam Kumria, Principal of Indraprastha College for Women, encouraged the participants, saying, “The objective of this platform is to empower the youth to not only share their perspectives but to also take on a leadership role in shaping the roadmap for India’s future.” Special guest Mr. Narendra Kumar Bishnoi also emphasized the importance of developing a sense of responsibility and accountability among the youth.
Dr. Roshani Devi, Event Coordinator and NSS Program Officer, informed that the central theme for this district-level round was ‘50 Years of Emergency: Lessons for Indian Democracy.’ Participants presented their views by centering on historical facts and future democratic challenges.
Out of 91 participants, the panel of judges selected five outstanding winners. These finalists will now represent their district at the upcoming State Level and subsequently at the National Level Youth Parliament.
The event concluded with the presentation of mementos to the distinguished guests, followed by the National Anthem.
