Future Leaders in Engineering and Business Step Up for Wetland Conservation at CMS VATAVARAN Event

Faridabad : The 12th CMS VATAVARAN International Film Festival and Forum on Environment and Wildlife continued its impactful outreach with an inspiring event at NGF College of Engineering and Technology, Faridabad. Over 150 engineering and business management students gathered to explore the critical role of wetland conservation and its connection to sustainable practices in both business and technology.

This event is part of the Green Film Fete, a series of outreach programs leading up to the Delhi Wetlands for LiFE Festival and the 12th CMS VATAVARAN festival, being held across nine schools, colleges, and universities in Delhi NCR.

Inspiring Film Screenings:
Attendees were deeply moved by a powerful selection of environmental films focused on Water, Wetlands, and Wildlife. These films, in alignment with the festival’s theme “Wetlands for LiFE,” emphasized the importance of wetlands in maintaining ecological balance and underscored the urgent need for their preservation.

Creative Expression Through Art:
Approximately 45 students participated in a lively painting competition, interpreting the theme “Wetlands for LiFE” through their art. The top ten paintings from this event will be showcased at the festival’s grand finale at Ganga Auditorium, Indira Paryavaran Bhawan, from October 3-5, 2024.

Engaging Discussions:
Experts led engaging discussions on pressing environmental issues, including Wetlands, Water Conservation, and Climate Change. These dialogues sparked meaningful conversations, encouraging students to apply their skills and knowledge towards environmental stewardship.

“It’s crucial that future leaders in engineering and business management take the lead in protecting our environment,” said Ms. P N Vasanti, Director General of CMS. “Their innovative thinking and strategic approach are essential in creating sustainable solutions for wetlands and environmental conservation.”

The day concluded with students committing to adopting eco-friendly practices and raising awareness about the importance of wetlands within their communities and future careers. The event at MGF College was a resounding success, reinforcing CMS VATAVARAN’s mission to inspire a movement towards a sustainable and ecologically responsible future.
