Agra Metro Progresses: UPMRC Initiates U-Girder Casting for Elevated Section

The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (UPMRC) has commenced the casting of U-girders for the elevated balance section of the Agra Metro Corridor, which will stretch from Guru Ka Taal to Sikandara. This development signifies a significant advancement in the project’s timeline.

UPMRC has kickstarted the casting of U-girders at the Casting Yard near Runakta, following a pooja ceremony officiated by PD Agra.

A total of 172 U-girders are set to be installed for the 3 km elevated balance segment.
These U-girders will be prefabricated and positioned atop the viaduct’s piers, providing support for the Metro track.

The underground portion from SN Medical College to RBS College is also nearing completion, with tunneling activities progressing swiftly.

UPMRC’s Managing Director, Sushil Kumar, has reiterated the team’s dedication to delivering the project on schedule, ensuring prompt operations along the entire initial corridor.

The Agra Metro project is steadily advancing, with the UPMRC working diligently to meet its deadline and bring a world-class transportation system to the city.
