Delhi : Under the esteemed guidance of the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of the University of Delhi, Prof. Yogesh Singh, and under the leadership of the Dean of Student Welfare, Prof. Ranjan Kumar Tripathi, the Central Placement Cell, under the aegis of the Office of the Dean of Student Welfare, organised ‘Avasar 2.0’, a comprehensive employment and internship fair on October 7, 2026 at the Multipurpose Hall, University Stadium, University of Delhi.
The fair was organised with the objective of creating a common platform where students could directly connect with prospective employers, explore employment and internship opportunities, and gain greater exposure to industry expectations and recruitment processes. The initiative also sought to strengthen the University’s engagement with the corporate and professional sector while facilitating wider and more equitable access to career opportunities for students across the University.
The event witnessed an overwhelming response, with more than 7,000 students participating in the fair. A total of 69 companies confirmed their participation, collectively bringing approximately 1,830 vacancies and internship opportunities across diverse sectors and professional domains. The participating organisations offered students opportunities suited to varied academic backgrounds, skill sets and career interests. Through direct interaction with recruiters, students were able to understand available roles, eligibility requirements, job responsibilities, selection procedures and the skills expected by employers. The fair therefore served not only as a recruitment platform but also as an important avenue for career awareness and professional networking.
The compensation and internship opportunities offered by participating organisations were among the significant highlights of the event. Infuingo mentioned the highest placement package of ₹10 lakh per annum, while the international organisation Sprix Japan offered the highest mentioned internship stipend of ₹60,000. PPGF also offered an internship opportunity with a stipend of approximately ₹40,000. These opportunities reflected the range of professional prospects made available to students through the fair.
The successful execution of AVASAR 2026 was made possible through the coordinated efforts of the Dean Students’ Welfare Office, Central Placement Cell, participating organisations, volunteers and student participants. The event demonstrated the importance of institutional initiatives that bridge the gap between higher education and the employment sector. With its substantial student participation, diverse recruiter representation and significant number of opportunities, AVASAR 2026 marked an important step towards enhancing employability, facilitating meaningful industry–academia interaction and creating accessible pathways for students of the University of Delhi to pursue their professional aspirations.
