New Delhi, April 1, 2025 – In a landmark achievement, the Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) has set the stage for a transformative Financial Year 2025-26, following a stellar FY 2024-25 marked by record-breaking sales of Nano Fertilisers and global recognition. Dr. U. S. Awasthi, IFFCO’s Managing Director, announced a bold vision to revolutionize agriculture, with 300 women farmers leading the charge as “Nano Drone Didi” and the launch of a groundbreaking Nano NPK fertiliser. In FY 2024-25, IFFCO’s Nano Urea Plus and Nano DAP fertilizers achieved impressive production and sales, highlighting their impact in reducing chemical fertilizer reliance by up to 50% while enhancing yields and environmental protection. Over 2.15 lakh field demonstrations across 15 agro-climatic zones showcased these benefits.
Additionally, IFFCO made history by hosting the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) General Assembly in 2024, celebrating 130 years of the ICA with the inauguration by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Hon’ble Home & Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah. Women at the Forefront: In a groundbreaking move, IFFCO trained 300 rural women as “Nano Drone Didi,” empowering them to use drones for precision spraying of Nano Fertilisers. These “Breaking Barriers” women are redefining agriculture, promoting gender equality, and fostering self-sufficiency in rural India. “We are building an ecosystem for sustainability and empowerment,” Dr. Awasthi said, highlighting IFFCO’s commitment to rural women entrepreneurs.
IFFCO is launching Nano NPK fertilizer for basal application, enriched with Magnesium, Sulphur, Zinc, and Copper, to provide balanced crop nutrition. This innovation, along with Liquid Nano Urea Plus and Nano DAP, aims to minimize nutrient losses and reduce environmental impacts. Additionally, IFFCO will expand its use of drone technology, training more farmers to adopt precision agriculture nationwide. A Global Vision: IFFCO is serving 55 million farmers through 36,000 cooperatives, aligning with India’s vision of “Sahkar se Samriddhi, Atmanirbhar Bharat & Atmanirbhar Krishi” (Prosperity through Cooperation, Self-Reliant India, and Self-Reliant Agriculture).
With support from the Ministry of Cooperation and Tribhuvan Sankari University, IFFCO aims to lead the global cooperative movement. Dr. Awasthi expressed optimism for FY 2025-26 for the IFFCO family and partners. A Call to the Nation: As IFFCO’s Nano-Revolution takes flight, the cooperative invites farmers, cooperatives, and the global community to join this transformative journey. With women drone pilots leading the way and Nano Fertilisers paving the path to sustainability, India’s agricultural future has never looked brighter.
