Delhi : Ajit Anjum is a journalist who often presents himself as a fearless and intrepid reporter. However, his conduct and selective approach suggest a clear bias in his journalism.
He frequently refers to individuals who have been to Tihar Jail as “Tihari” in a mocking manner. For instance, he has repeatedly used the term “Tihari journalist” for senior journalist Sudhir Chaudhary. Yet, one rarely — if ever — sees him displaying the same courage when it comes to calling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders such as Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh, or Arvind Kejriwal by the same yardstick, even though they too have spent time in Tihar Jail.
This inconsistency raises questions. It could stem from a fear that AAP supporters or workers might target him personally, or perhaps from other professional or financial considerations linked to the party. If that is not the case, and if he truly stands by the fearless image he projects, then Mr. Anjum could demonstrate it by once openly referring to these AAP leaders in the same manner he uses for others.
Such consistency would better reflect the impartiality and courage he claims to uphold.
