New Delhi : In a landmark initiative, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) today inaugurated the Himveer Postgraduate Institute at CAPFs Referral Hospital, Greater Noida.
DG ITBP Shri Shatrujeet Kapur, IPS inaugurated the institute, marking the first medical teaching facility within CAPFs.
The upgraded 200-bedded hospital is now a tertiary care and academic centre, accredited by NBEMS and aligned with NMC norms.
The institute starts with PG seats across 05 disciplines, with DNB courses in General Medicine and Pathology, and Diploma courses in Paediatrics, Anaesthesia and Family Medicine. Six PG residents (ITBP & CRPF) have been inducted.
The initiative will boost in-house medical training, reduce dependence on external institutions, and strengthen healthcare capacity within CAPFs.
ITBP plans to develop it into a medical college with 50 MBBS seats in future.
