Kamala Trust Continues Relief Efforts for Flood-Affected Communities in Assam

Guwahati: Assam, August 2026: In the wake of the devastating floods in Assam, the Kamala Ankibai Ghamandiram Gowani Trust, under the leadership of Trustee Mrs. Nidarshana Gowani, continues to extend relief and humanitarian support to families affected by the floods.Through its “Kamala With Assam” initiative, Trust volunteers are working continuously on the ground and reaching flood-affected communities with essential relief material. Relief distribution is being carried out across affected areas, including Jorhat and Sivasagar, with relief kits comprising essential household items such as plates, glasses, cooking vessels, kadhais, spoons, sanitary pads, candles and matchboxes, mosquito-protection essentials and other necessary supplies.

As part of the Trust’s continued support for Assam, Mrs. Nidarshana Gowani met Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma Ji and apprised him of the relief and service initiatives being undertaken by Kamala Trust. The Trust also extended its support to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, reaffirming its commitment to the ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts.

Speaking on the relief initiative, Mrs. Nidarshana Gowani, Trustee, Kamala Ankibai Ghamandiram Gowani Trust, said:

“Our volunteers are continuously working on the ground to reach essential relief material to families affected by the floods. At this difficult time, our priority is to stand with the people of Assam and support them with whatever assistance is possible. Relief is only the first step; as the situation improves, Kamala Trust will also come forward to support reconstruction and rehabilitation wherever our assistance is needed. We will continue to stand with Assam through this difficult journey.”

The Trust has also appealed to citizens to come forward and contribute towards relief efforts, encouraging collective participation in supporting flood-affected families.
